Dennis Boehm receives ASCE’s 2026 Wallace Hayward Baker Award to be presented at Geo-Congress 2026.

With a focus on deep foundations since entering the industry, Dennis began his career with Hayward Baker (now Keller) in 1990. Throughout his tenure, he has become an expert on wet and dry soil mixing, jet grouting, and compensation grouting for new construction and remedial applications. Several of his key projects include settlement correction using compensation grouting and jet grout underpinning for the main church at Annunciation Catholic Church in Houston, Texas; settlement correction using compensation grouting for the Jack II combined-cycle power plant in Bridgeport, Texas; and ground improvement using deep mixing, wick drains and mass stabilization for 19 storage tanks for LOOP in Galliano, Louisiana.  

Dennis is a member of ASCE/Geo-Institute and DFI, serving on their Ground Improvement Committee and Soil Mixing Committee, respectively, chairing the soil mixing committee for DFI for seven years and sits on the AGP board of the Geo Institute With strong industry involvement, Dennis has published many articles, technical papers, and presentations on soil mixing, jet grouting, and the application of ground improvement for tank support. He also regularly presents at the Colorado School of Mines on compensation grouting and soil mixing

Dennis holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of the 2013 Joe Welsh Market Development Award for Soil Mixing and an internal Innovation Award for Soil Mixing in 2019.

In his current role, Dennis is responsible for bringing together all the foundation solutions offered by Keller and the civil capacities of Moretrench Industrial, coupling that with solutions provided by Remedial Construction Services, RECON, providing customers within the industrial markets a turnkey solution.
