Keller installed a rock fissure grout curtain that provided effective seepage control for a tailings dam, enhancing long-term performance at a remote mining site.
The project
Keller delivered a grout curtain for the tailings pond dam at Harte Gold’s Sugar Zone mine near White River, Ontario, supporting the development of critical infrastructure for the mining operation.
The work required the construction of a continuous seepage barrier within fissured bedrock to control water migration and enhance dam performance. Keller used top-hammer drilling, paired with rock fissure grouting, to effectively treat subsurface discontinuities and create a low-permeability curtain.
Coordinating with the project team, Keller executed the grouting program efficiently and in line with project requirements. The completed grout curtain provides a reliable seepage control solution, contributing to the long-term stability and performance of the tailings dam.
