Keller installed CFA (auger cast) piles to support the construction of a grocery store in Regina.
The project
A new grocery store was constructed as part of a larger mixed-use development in Regina. Subsurface conditions consisted of clay overlying silt and till, with silty sandy soils prone to sloughing. CFA piling was selected to mitigate these conditions and allow pile installation without open-hole drilling.
The project was completed under a strict construction schedule, with the owner and general contractor requiring all subcontractors to meet firm start and finish dates to maintain overall project sequencing and turnover.
Keller installed 120 CFA piles at depths ranging from 25 ft to 40 ft (7.6 m to 12.2 m). Constructed during harsh winter weather, Keller safely delivered the foundation system in accordance with quality requirements, supporting the timely construction of the new food retail facility.
